Yogeshwar Dutt born on 2 November 1982, Bhainswal Kalan, Sonipat district, Haryana. He won Gold Medal in 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow. In 2013, He was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India. Now he is the icon player of Haryana Hammers in Pro Wrestling League 2015 (PWL).
In 2003, Yogeshwar Dutt won the Gold Medal in the Common wealth Games.
At the Athens Olympics, 2004, Yogeshwar participated in Men’s freestyle 55 kg and stood 18th.
In 2006, After all the emotional and physical trauma about his life and career, He won the bronze medal in the 60 kilogram category at the 15th Asian Games at Doha.
This was Yogeshwar’s second appearance at the Olympics in 2008. He represented India in 60 kilogram freestyle wrestling at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He won the Gold Medal at the 2008 Asian Championships which held at Jeju City in South Korea.
In 2008 Summer Olympics, Yogeshwar got a bye in the first round. In the pre-quarterfinals, he beat Kazakhstan’s Baurzhan Orazgaliyev 8-3. Yogeshwar lost by Kenichi Yumoto of Japan 3-6 in the quarterfinals of the 60 kg freestyle event.In this summer Olympics He was ranked 9th.
At the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games, Yogeshwar won the 60 kg title after back from injury. Yogeshwar, who went past Australian Farzad Tarash (16-0, 17-0), South African Marius Loots (7-1) and England’s Sasha Madyarchyk (4-4, 8-0) on his way to the final, came up with an exceptionally skillful performance to win the gold for India.
On 12 Aug 2012 in Summer Olympics, Yogeshwar Dutt won a memorable bronze medal in the Men’s freestyle 60 kg weight category, And became the third Indian wrestler to win an Olympic medal after K D Jadhav in 1952 and Sushil Kumar in 2008 and 2012.
He had defeated North Korean Ri Jong-Myong in the bronze medal fight.
Earlier, Yogeshwar qualified for the 2012 Olympics by winning a silver medal at an Asian qualification tournament in Astana, Kazakhstan where he lost by Iranian Masoud Esmaeilpour (2-3, 0-1) in the final.
At the Olympics he beaten by the Russian B Kudukhov 1-0, 2-0 and was knocked out from the pre-quarterfinal round.
Yogeshwar Dutt won the gold medal in the men’s 65 kg freestyle category by beating Canada’s Jevon Balfour 10-0.
Yogeshwar had earlier beaten Alex Gladkov of Scotland 4-0 in the pre-quarters, then easily defeated another Scottish wrestler Gareth Jones in the quarterfinals by employing his trademark Fitele (leg twisting) technique that he had used while winning the bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics. In the semifinals, Yogeshwar successfully beat Sri Lanka’s Chamara Perera in just two minutes and three seconds and won the contest as 10-0 .
Yogeshwar Dutt won the gold in the 65kg freestyle wrestling category by defeating Zalimkhan Yusupov of Tajikistanat the Asian games 2014.
He is awarded Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award 2012 given by Government of India.
